W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the DentaQuest Institute funded a new report looking at how to improve the overall quality of dental health in an era where health care services are increasingly held accountable for continuously demonstrating quality improvement. In addition to identifying the measures necessary to determine how the oral health care field is performing, the report looks at the systemic barriers that have delayed changes in the field. With the constant emphasis on quality, “increasing costs, inadequate access to care, and profound disparities are creating new pressures for the oral health delivery system to focus on value instead of volume of services.”
